Nature’s Innocence

Image
A freshly bloomed rose, Cool morning air touches her nose, As she wakes up from her doze. Warm hands on a cup of freshly made tea, Sitting inside with the meadow outside to see. Upon a bark, a sweet hive of honey with many a bee.  On her face the feel of the cold rain, Coming in brushing the windowpane.  Deep into the meadow lined with colorful bushes goes a long lane.  Little hills covered in shades of yellow, red and green Tall trees on each other they lean; Nature’s wholesome beauty can be seen.  Shining raindrops on new leaves of pale green, Hanging from the branch to reach the ground so keen; Swirling in the fresh humid air so clean.  Wet mud and grass below soft feet, Morning birds and creatures she will greet.  Sprinkled all over the land, soft blooms smelling so sweet.  Birds calling with all their might, Flying into the clouds and towards the light.  What a wonderful feeling to behold; such a pleasant sight! - San

Winter’s Dawn

Image
Crisp, frosty, cloudy mornings, Gloomy atmosphere with it brings.  Limp leaves laying on the slippery wet ground, A palate of colors to be found. Pathway through the trees to a small university, Dim light in the sky through leafage we can see. Nestled in the heart of a forest patch, An old heritage structure like an old stone church. Early morning getting drizzled with rain, Coming down streaking the window pane.  Pine trees wet with shining drops, Around bright green trees and crops.  Rays of dim sunlight falling through the thick branches with grace and ease, Coming down from peepholes around the clouds and sprawling wherever they please.  Quaint smell of pine wafting into the frigid air, All the way up a path and towards a lair.  Beside the trees, covered in white frost, Was a Bright red postbox. Partially melting ice meeting a mild golden ray, A shiny bright red droplet rolling down to lay peacefully in dried foliage and hay.  -San

Aircraft Crash

Image
Crashing down, aircraft struck, Just a stroke of pure bad luck. Smoky fumes starting in its tail spreading fast, Dark Clouds overhead, big shadows they Cast. Feeling numb not hot nor cold, Lower he goes feeling bold yet losing hold.  Drop of sweat upon his brow, Trying to think of anything his brain will allow. Adrenaline pumping ready to jump, Seat ejected and out of the plane with a bump. Pilot in a parachute leaving the burning airship, Thankful for his escape floating around the air sharp as a whip.  Plane crashed, exploded into smithereens, The most dangerous a journey could have ever been.  Wounded and burned, gliding through cool air, Half unconscious, falling down towards trees without a care.  Consciousness returned, Wide eyed and scared, he was recovering in a hospital bed. To his mind no memories came, To his utter shock he couldn’t recall! not even his name.  Unaccounted Time and Memory lapse entwined, Into a foggy daze where nothing mattered ...

Lonely Sailor

Image
Blue star in the night sky, Frosty winds with clouds floating by. Black Sea turning fierce and grim, Peeping moon behind clouds getting dim.  Crumpled reflection down upon rippled waves, Surrounded by mountains and black caves.  Small boat far in the distance rides, On the strong waves as it dances with the tides.  A Thin frail sailor with one broken ore, Given up on life and can’t endure anymore. With fearful, frightened eyes, In the distance a rough stone arch he spies. Swiftly getting ushered towards the cave, With waves pushing the boat, refusing to behave. The Lonely sailor with his last burned cigarette,  Awaiting his eventual fate, that he had not met yet.  Death shining brighter than life, Losing all his might and strife.  He eagerly awaits his dark fate into the deep abyss, eventually moving with the strong current as he gets swept away into the darkness.  - San

Hope Filled Melancholy

Image
Feeling grief of suddenly losing someone so dear, Losing hope and being crestfallen, after all the fear.  Flying high into the heavens through the bright clouds so white, Life has to go on as the living carry on day by day, stronger with every fight.  Lonely mound at the edge of a cemetery, Beloved soul departed so unexpectedly. At the far end of a waterfront, a weeping willow, With its watery reflection and shedding leaves looking down below.  Filling the dismal feeling that only time can heal, Then one day, dauntless it will again make us feel. With every step the memories become more vivid, before slowly fading away into lost dreams.  Flowing down and drifting away into teary streams.  Like withering leaves in the wind hoping to find the courage to live again fearlessly and without sorrow.  Just while waiting for time to fill the hollow.  -San

Storm

Image
A storm so aggressive and strong, That came after a summer so long. Where uprooted trees without a sound, Lay dead and limp down on the ground. Among devastated branches, birds trying to find their nest, Nature putting their life’s work to the test. People wading through deep waters to get back home, Through debris filled waters they stride and roam.   Strays find dry patches trying not to drown, Everything’s wet with many a frown. Brown muddy water seeping in everywhere, A flood oozing from every crack and tear. Troubled people cursing destiny, For times filled with hardship and mutiny. But once the rain has stopped and floods recede, Washed buildings and lush greenery takes the lead.  City got cleansed as the floods took with it dirt and ill will.  A Fine new beginning and a clean bright future can be seen still.  -San

Rock Church

Image
Quaint, misty street through the mountains early in the day, Just passing through for a quick quiet stay.  Strolling up the sidewalk hearing sweet chimes amongst a thick green hedge, Spotted a half covered mountainous grassy ledge. Peeped off the path towards the valley, only to behold this magnificent sight, A church so easy to miss but such a grateful delight. A beautiful old stone church carved on the edge of a mountain, out of a cliff, Surrounded by creamy white clouds adrift.  Overlooking the sky and the sea down below, Inside it were stone pews chiseled from the ground up in a long neat row.  Carefully hidden structure high up and away from the shore,  with bright, white washed walls and an old grey slate floor. Nestled inside a tall white arch, lay a huge porcelain bell, whose chimes echoed all through the valley as peace befell. Smiling down gracefully was a beautiful Idol etched into the wall.  Inside this dreamy white church, that stood so proud...
