Crescent Island
On
a crescent shaped island with ocean submerged rocks,
Contoured
and covered in deep maroon sand; nice for pleasant walks.
Beautiful
lighthouse up on a broken hill standing high,
For
years, flashing its warning light; to boats and passers by.
Glimpses
of shiny ocean seen,
in
the valley down below, among leaves so green and flowers so keen.
Narrow
walking path leading up to a lonely little fort.
Pleasant
in the shadows but under the sun, hot.
Leading
us around the area are slim uneven pavements with a road that is
steep.
For
most travellers so many wonderful memories to keep.
Pathways
dotted with little shops, restaurants and cafes;
tourists
can stay here in bliss for days.
A
few miles into the ocean is black volcanic rock,
surrounded
by deep azure water and springs that are hot.
A
few Boats and ships sailing around,
with
a long zigzag pathway to the dock; where they are bound.
Distinct
coloured beaches in red, white and black,
All
carved from mountainous residue; this alluring island has back to
back.
Whitewashed
structures with blue dome churches, clinging to the tall red slopes,
Breadth
taking sights and views bringing us new hopes.
