As the reflection of the sun falls on the ripples of the sea, Shining on the water the rays reflect off and dash into the sky, Flying in the air are the birds forming a “v” as one can clearly see; Who float smoothly through the clouds and pass by… As the glittering bright sun peeks from behind the fluffy cluster of cloud, Its rays fall on the deep blue sea spreading its light as it descends Over the water, birds and seagulls squeal aloud As the sun sets, the troubles of the day, it mends… When the sun sets behind the water, it disappears slowly in the horizon, Taking the bright light with it, leaving behind the residue of a shadowy night, With barely the sight of dusk or dawn As the darkness creeps in slowly just like a thick blanket of dark granite… With a twix of beauty and grace, as the sun descends, and day becomes night, The moon and the stars begin to peek out and show their light. Like a river through thick and thin as we flow, Seeds of eternal friendship we will sow. With each other through life we will go. As the great almighty pushes us through life, sailing in the smooth boat of time we will row. The wind passes by giving us direction with its occasional blow. Through rain and shine like the sun, we will continue to glow. Older and wiser as we grow, More about life we will get to know!! -Sanaya

The sun that shines when the night is over, The moon that shines when the day just got over. The night has day with the sun bright and shining, Just like every dark cloud has a silver lining. Good and bad times come and go by, Just as the days and nights come and row by. Just like at the end of a tunnel, you see light, You must never give up and must always keep up the fight. You must keep going without losing hope, Even on feeling, you cannot cope. You must forget your trifling past, For your future is more important and undoubtedly vast. Towards the ray of hope as I float, I’d like to end this poem on an appropriate note. - Sanaya

Life is a mix of various elements, It is a blend of risk, luck and common sense. Through life as we sail, The element of risk will always prevail. In life as you move on, In your way more risks will dawn. As one after another risk you overcome, The sound of more and more will always hum. But fret no more, for you will rise, And winning each risk will be your prize. Risk by risk as you take, Day after day, towards brighter plains you will wake. Towards your ultimate goal as you float, You will be dressed in a proud and confident coat. At the end, when you finally sail in the boat of success, You will have achieved nothing more and nothing less. -Sanaya

As lovers bask in the warmth of the promising sun, Their hearts come together to beat as one. Hand in hand as they walk, Only of love is what they talk. To each other they’ll be forever true, As a slow bud their love for each other grew. They’ll love each other until death does its part, As they love each other from the bottom of their heart. They love each other from their hearts core, On each other love they’ll pour. In each other they’ll always trust, Until one day the heavens turn them to dust. With the tight knot that love ties, Lover’s souls will be inseparable in the shining paradise. - Sanaya

To be Free, Away from the honeycomb ask the busy bee. Travelling slow and wide like the waves of the sea. In the air the sea gulls shout with glee. As the sun shines into a new day, The fish in the ocean jump towards the sky, happy and gay. The water glitters as the waves carry the sun’s first ray. Deep in the forest, near the beach and bats in their dark caves lay. As the wind blows, trees sway and shed their yellow leaves that turn dry, As the leaves float in the air, they hear the sea hawks cry. Pink and white stalks in the shallow water, to catch more fish they try. Crabs come out of the cracks in the hot sand and around the place they pry. Marvelling at the splendour of nature, as I bent down on one knee, A beautiful white dove came flying down at me. With no care or worry of the world, it signified the key. The key of freedom, the key to be free!! -Sanaya

Two lovers walking through life hand in hand, Always together; like the sea and sand. As the feeling of love pours through them, For each other they will always compromise and bend. The sweet words of love they will always say; Come rain, come shine, come what may! Love is young, love is blind, In its strong bond both lovers it will bind. Love is tender, love is pure, Only each other lovers will adore. Without reason or warning love will dawn, It is only on their beloved they will fawn. Love is intense, love is deep, The promise of commitment they will always keep. Love is gentle, love is strong, Between them a sturdy bond will last long. -Sanaya

Through life as you pass by, Someone breathtaking is caught by your eye. That someone as often as you see, Happy and excited is what you’ll always be. What is this confusing feeling? With which right now you are dealing In the beginning it is first a light crush, This is formed when you stop and gaze at someone in spite of a rush! If that someone has the same impression, This crush will only then proceed to infatuation… This can be done by gentle unswerving clarification and not augmented insistence, Only then will the crush develop into an infatuation in an instance. As this infatuation grows over time and day by day the feeling gets strong, Through ups and downs the relationship will become sturdy and last long. Through life as you move on incessantly, You will want your relationship to last relentlessly and persistently. Far in the horizon I could see the golden sun rising into a new day... First the sun appeared like a white half hoop surrounded by a ring of soft pink and yellow As the minutes went by, the hoop formed a perfectly round prominent circle. More like a golden ring. It started to get brighter from the centre and the brightness spread around… Inch by inch as the brightness overtook the sky, dazzling light spread all over; its magnificent reflection fell over lightening the dark waters of the sea. The yielding rays of the sun brightened up the clouds lingering in the blue… As the soft rays touched the waves of the gigantic ocean, it seemed as though a great goddess settled over the earth with her shiny crown and snow white attire, spreading her countless blessings to mankind… -Sanaya

I walked on the beach remembering our old times... And As I walked, I felt the sand soft under my feet and warm from the day’s sun… The wind blew in my face fluffing my hair back and around my shoulders. I could taste the salty air brushing past me… The sun was at its descent and it looked gorgeous!!! It was glittering and gleaming as its wavy reflection showed in the deep Blue sea! As the mist started to clear, I could see an island in the distance. A small island covered in green foliage…what a sight!!! Filled with beauty… The soft chirps of the birds, returning home, filled my ears and as I closed my eyes, I felt as though I were floating in the air with them… Floating into the soft white clouds and settling there…. As I looked down I saw the beauty the earth possessed!!! The gracious waterfalls, lush green trees, beautiful flowers, the vast ocean….. In a dreamy daze as I awoke, I could hear the waves lashing on the shore…. The sun started to rise….it was a soft white at first, then

Through clear glass as I watch the ocean, Its vastness and striking beauty grips me, Deep blue waters end in the horizon, Where, the evening bids farewell to the setting sun. The sun’s reflection cascades on the rippled ocean. Each wave and ripple splashes on the shore, leaving behind white, soft ocean spray, which disappears instantly. As the waves recede, and push back into the ocean, they leave behind smooth, soft sand with slightly rippled impressions on it. I marvel at the beauty of the ocean… The setting sun reveals a wonderful palette of colours in the flawless, dauntless sky… Approaching, far in the distance a dark hue smears the sky increasingly as the night falls… -Sanaya.
