Christmas Essence

Image
Christmas season, the festive season; An exciting time to reflect and reason.  With warm hearts and falling snow, decked up fir trees lined up in a row. Turning far away cities and villages that stand, into a snow cold winter wonderland.  Warm gingerbread cookies and eggnog to share, vanilla and pine wafting through the air. Songs and bells ringing all around; attracting travellers with all their sound.  Foggy skies with a deep blue hue; endless lights and decorations too. Bells are ringing as children cheer; all around the place good wishes to hear.  Carrollers' singing famous tunes, up until the new year approaching soon. Santa on his reindeer’d sleigh;  to all at night a merry X'mas he will say. With gifts to give while all asleep,  through the chimney he will crawl and peep.  Bright little villages lined up with trees, endless valleys covered in yuletide snow and tiny creatures that run free. Peop

Sailboat

Image
Among mountain islands, a sailboat floats, on an empty stretch of water with no other boats.  With the white moon above and icy currents below, bouncing unsteadily, casting a wavy shadow.  Watery reflections of twinkling diamonds fallen from the starry night sky; a cool, strong breeze pushes and drifts by. Dancing waters making the sail flutter, with it’s wooden hull cutting through, as smooth as salty butter. Hazy sun rising over the horizon, early morning, a soft whistling gale; as the morning birds sing. Bathing the sailboat in its first golden glow; gliding along its path easy and slow. Cutting through a strip of water now getting narrow. Mellow waters splashing around, with snowy foam and a washing sound. Don’t want to explore islands unknown; That are scattered around with lazy, tall mountains; standing alone. Better off at sea with the salty breeze,  the wild birds and geese. Light brown sandy slopes, caressed with w

Crescent Island

Image
On a crescent shaped island with ocean submerged rocks, Contoured and covered in deep maroon sand; nice for pleasant walks. Beautiful lighthouse up on a broken hill standing high, For years, flashing its warning light; to boats and passers by. Glimpses of shiny ocean seen, in the valley down below, among leaves so green and flowers so keen. Narrow walking path leading up to a lonely little fort. Pleasant in the shadows but under the sun, hot. Leading us around the area are slim uneven pavements with a road that is steep. For most travellers so many wonderful memories to keep. Pathways dotted with little shops, restaurants and cafes; tourists can stay here in bliss for days. A few miles into the ocean is black volcanic rock, surrounded by deep azure water and springs that are hot. A few Boats and ships sailing around, with a long zigzag pathway to the dock; where they are bound.

A Blissful Soul's Reverie

Image
Life is full of disappointments and hope, That makes you strong to trudge through and cope. Let life lead you the way it intends, Allow the road to guide you through the moments it lends. Go like a breeze in the direction that destiny pushes you, Try your best, stay adrift and true. In the wind, like leaves you must float, In a storm, find your ground in life’s boat. Be kind and flexible to new ideas and aspirations, All of which will take time and demand a lot of patience. Know when to stop and don’t push until you drop, Try another route, wait and then get to the top. Don’t be like the foolish bee, Endlessly hitting a glass; falling with no energy. To us, this wonderful life the almighty has leant, Always be thankful and tolerant. Towards provocation be safe and persistent, Preserve life; it's a gift to us, God sent. Indulge in temptation and rewarding pleasure, Nevertheless take responsibility for

A Park Bench

Image
Deep inside a forest like park, Lies a park bench near an old tree bark. Falling early light rays of dawn, Smiling through the tree leaves, illuminating the nearby lawn. Darkness lifting its misty shadowed cloak, Everything around, in the new essence will soak. Dew drops settling on the wooden bench, The nearby trees, the hedge and even the little trench. Lost travellers passing by in the seasonal summer, Soft birds chirping and bees buzzing; gently turning into a mummer. The fall colours set in with the red leaves of maple trees, Bringing the autumn season down to its knees. Cold winds blow as winter sets in, Icicles hanging from a nearby branch, as sharp as a pin. Freezing dew drops into snowflakes, Time for Christmas puddings and cakes. No leaves left except pine, Growing strikingly in a line and a new design. All trees standing tall, flaunting only bare brown shoots that can be seen, Little nests lay

A Tango Melody

Image
Soft music playing in the distance, with a distinct Argentinean beat, Ardent couples joining in with swift moving feet. Centre stage, a wooden dance floor, Off the beach, with the sound of the vast ocean’s roar. Most, move in pairs and some left ashore. Handful of couples slinking around, With soft tapping bare feet, amongst all the sound. Hypnotic gaze, a light brush and a glow flickering dim, In the salty breeze, it’s just her and him. Stick flames in the sand with the shiny moonlight, Reflecting in the wavy, deep waters at night. Partners work together to create, Something mutually fulfilling and great. Sweet Spanish melodies that gently play; Quick and slow themes of the night and day. Lost in a tranquil trance, With soulful harmony in every glance. From partner to partner, as we embrace; Feel a new essence with stirring grace. Spellbound in sweet surrender as we glide, Floating with the tun

Autumn Tryst

Image
Red leaves fly softly settling on the ground, Brown crunchy leaves under our feet make a sound.  Hues of green, both light and dark, Strewn all around the little garden park. Wisps of flying leaves whipping over the park pond, Little ducklings waddling in the water of which they are so fond.  Tucked away in the corner lies the great old oak; Right near the pond, where big eyed green frogs croak.  Streets lined up with plenty a colourful tree, Birds and small creatures trying to scurry free.  Nature decked up in red and brown, Captivating fervent images and bees that frown.  Lighting up the golden amber in trees, as the sun goes down, Fairy lights and candles lit all around town.  Drifting scent of ripened pears and fruit, Orange halloween pumpkins to follow suit.  Maple leaves turning a dusky yellow. Turning the aura a bit more mellow.  A tryst with nature so crisp and soulful, As autumn prepares for winter, so merry and

Alpine Walk

Image
Started on a high road leading into a grassy high land, Specks of pine trees down by the valley stand. More grassy patches under our feet, Cool light winds around us weep. Tall trees making the sunlight dance, As their leaves give the sun stripes a chance.  Leaves stirring softly creating a calmness to relish, As is every wandering dreamer’s deepest wish.  Oak, fir and birch trees with hanging pine; Cones that are all unique and fine.  Some brown, some light; some as dark as the night. Hanging and swaying ever so lightly, Gently shaking and whispering secrets in the breeze ever so slightly. Carrying secrets of the day time, Filling our senses with the scent of pine. Quick footed squirrel running helter skelter; Off to its cozy tree house shelter. Pine cones dropping lightly as they run, Softly landing on the grass, under the ambient sun.  Sweet alpine paradise ever so calming, Nature’s umpteen bounty; so gentle and so ch

The Water's Edge

Image
Fog floating over the water like a ghastly spirit, Cool eerie winds blowing over lurking shadows both dull and lit. Flag flying proudly on the land across the bay, Salty dark blue waters slathering the shores, as the velvet beach sand gets washed away. Small strip of rustling, green foliage ending into a white beach, Enticing budding sailors with a sense of direction and dreams to reach. Down came a luscious tall wave, With white foam splashing and crashing into a cave. Crawling white crabs entering the darkness within, Clawing their sandy way in with a fish’s fin. Shells lying lazily on the shore, Some complete and some with holes in their core. Under the sand they try to hide, Getting swept and washed up with the tide. Dim light settling on the water; with flakes of reflecting sky, Small sail boats dancing on the far waves, as their tiny sails fly. I nto the ocean the sun melts away, With yellow, gold waves splashing and

The Day Ends

Image
Touching the earth through the clouds out comes a golden ray, Rising sun, dawn of day. Sweet child your eyes open ever so slightly, Blinded by the sunlight so bright and shiny. Pulled into a waking state, Staring into a new day and a blank slate. Blend in with nature taking little pleasures so true, As the garden leaves fall from trees under the sky ever so blue. Flow through the hustle bustle of the day, Bring home your light as the day fades away.  Setting sun into the water at the bay, Along the drive waves crash and flow away. Soft light rays that kiss the water, Just like the father feels for his daughter.  Flying Sail of a sailboat bathed in the suns rays,  Rich against the sky lit backdrop covered in haze. The sky is a mystery of colours Orange and pink,  Beautifully reflected into the sea waters and then they sink. The sun plays hide and seek with the clouds before it fades away, The Day slows down as darkness hi
