Sailboat

Among mountain islands, a sailboat floats,
on an empty stretch of water with no other boats.

With the white moon above and icy currents below,
bouncing unsteadily, casting a wavy shadow.

Watery reflections of twinkling diamonds fallen from the starry night sky;
a cool, strong breeze pushes and drifts by.

Dancing waters making the sail flutter,
with it’s wooden hull cutting through, as smooth as salty butter.

Hazy sun rising over the horizon, early morning,
a soft whistling gale; as the morning birds sing.

Bathing the sailboat in its first golden glow; gliding along its path easy and slow.
Cutting through a strip of water now getting narrow.

Mellow waters splashing around,
with snowy foam and a washing sound.

Don’t want to explore islands unknown;
That are scattered around with lazy, tall mountains; standing alone.

Better off at sea with the salty breeze,
the wild birds and geese.

Light brown sandy slopes, caressed with white wavy foam,
coming out from around the gorge; the little sailboat now hopefully heading home.
